By Road
We are in the mid west coastal area of France, about 50 miles North East of Bordeaux and 30 miles South of Cognac, on the road between Barbezieux and Chalais. Good N & A roads give easy motorway quality access from the Channel ferry ports, we are about 6 hours drive from St Malo and 8 hours from Calais/Boulogne using the peages.

The physical address of the property is 1 Le Bourg, Chillac, 16480.
If driving down the N10 from Angouleme take the Barbezieux Sud (D 24) exit and then turn left onto the D731 at the roundabout, signposted Chalais, we are 12 km down the road. Once you reach the sign for Chillac (having gone through the village of Condeon about 5 km back), you will go up a small hill to a roundabout (which has a crucifix off to the right) turn left here following the sign to the eglise (also signposted Berneuil) and travel about 200 metres through the village until you see the Chateau and Church on your right, turn into their car park and our house shares the car park on the right.
By Air
The nearest airports are Bordeaux and Bergerac, both are served by good priced flights - yes even BA have reasonable prices to Bordeaux! Bordeaux is our preferred airport as the roads are very good from there to the house and, in terms of time, this is usually the quickest to get to and from.

By Rail
There are excellent rail links with TGV (the super fast service) serving both Angouleme and Bordeaux. Angouleme is nearer and quicker and car hire services are situated opposite the train station
